July Fourth

The Fourth of July is certainly the most American of holidays. Our chapter is proud and honored to be the driving force behind our community’s celebration of such an important day in our country’s history and in our national heritage. On Tuesday, July 4, don your red, white and blue and celebrate with us both at our community parade in the morning & at our Celebration in the Park and fireworks display later in the evening. It’s a day fit for Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam themselves.

Community Parade

The day kicks off with our annual community parade, which features an eclectic mix of everything from vintage cars, tractors, and displays from various community groups and organizations. The parade represents those from all walks of life and provides a reflection of North Canton’s unified spirit.

The parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. from the parking lot adjacent to Memorial Stadium along Seventh Street and will follow a one-mile route down Main Street to Harmon Street and will end at the North Canton Middle School.

We encourage businesses, churches, organizations, school groups, and any individuals in the community to participate. Please see the registration page below for official parade rules.

To register:
1. Open this registration packet. The packet contains information about parade logistics and an updated set of rules and regulations.

2. The above packet also contains a registration form, which can be printed and mailed in to us. The address is on the form.

3. Or you can register online at this link. However, please note that if you’re registering online, it’s still necessary to read through the information in the packet listed in Step 1. All registrations must be received by Monday, June 26.

Participation in the parade is free, but we are asking all those who register to bring donations of non-perishable food items, personal-care essentials, paper products and cleaning supplies for the Serving Area Military (S.A.M.) Center in Massillon. The Center provides resources and support to active-duty military members, veterans, their families and their widows. A complete list of requested items can be found here. You can learn more about the S.A.M. Center by visiting its website.

For questions about the parade, contact event chair Trevor Ivan at pr@northcantonjaycees.org.

Community Celebration and Fireworks

Join us later in the evening as we kick off our community celebration at 7 p.m. with a live band, children’s activities, and several food vendors. Then, just after dusk, we’ll light up the night sky with a spectacular display by American Fireworks.

Bring your blanket, family and friends to this most patriotic of celebrations! Keep checking this page for updates and more specifics as the date draws closer.

For more information, contact event chair Abby Tanner at absters26@yahoo.com. If you’d like to be a food vendor, contact President Colin Riley at president@northcantonjaycees.org.

Want to help sponsor the fireworks? So many communities have either scaled back or eliminated their fireworks displays. We are pleased to help keep this long-standing tradition going in North Canton, but we need the community’s help. Below are the necessary forms and information about becoming a fireworks sponsor. You can also make a secure donation directly by using the bottom link. Donations of any amount are needed and appreciated. Please note, all donations are NOT tax deductible.
